Miles Thompson Adds New Element in Minnesota

The Minnesota Swarm got the most well known young player in Monday night’s Entry Draft: Miles Thompson. The Swarm got a bit lucky in being able to draft Thompson after an early morning trade by the Rochester Knighthawks that sent Johnny Powless and Joel McCready for the Vancouver Stealth’s second overall pick for later that evening. This trade blew up almost everyone’s mock drafts, including my own. With this trade…

Fall Ball Check In: Stony Brook

This upcoming season for the Stony Brook Sea Wolves looks like a promising one. Last season ended on a disappointing note for the Sea Wolves on an overtime thriller against the Albany Great Danes. On Tuesday night both Parrot and Rebel improved to 2-0 on the season in the Baltimore Indoor Lacrosse League. NLL Draft Grades: Black Wolves, Swarm, Get High Grades

New England: A The Black Wolves debut draft was a doozy (say that three times fast). The ‘Wolves added star potential players with Ty Thompson, Quinn Powless and Mark Cockerton, and they also made trades to grab Jay Card and Mike McNamara. The Black Wolves were able to get Sheldon Burns late, the #8 ranked prospect and the second ranked defenseman. New England also found a way to stockpile draft…

MLL Protected Roster Evaluations: Boston Cannons

The Boston Cannons lost two lacrosse legends to retirement this offseason in Ryan Boyle and Stephen Berger. They also left another long time MLL player Matt Stribel off the protected roster after he was a late addition to the team this past season. Veteran defender Kyle Sweeney is still on the roster after putting together another great summer in the league. Sweeney will bring leadership back to the Cannons this 2015…

MSL Players Shine in NLL Draft

Of 55 players taken in this years’ NLL draft, nine of them are already regulars on MSL squads. Players usually jump to the MSL after their junior careers are over, so expect some players drafted out of junior to show up on MSL teams in the future, honing their skills in summer lacrosse. The new New England Black Wolves, who recently added Tracey Kelusky to the coaching staff, used five…
