MSL Update: Six Nations Chiefs Double Up Brooklin Redmen

Although Wednesday night’s MSL matchup between the Six Nations Chiefs and the Brooklin Redmen had no bearing on their respective division standings, a win by the home side would vault Brooklin into sole possession of top spot overall. Both teams came into the game leading their division, although one point separated them (along with Brampton and Peterborough) in the overall standings. Both teams were coming off overtime performances against “lesser”…

Major League Lacrosse Preview: Ohio Machine vs. Hamilton Nationals

The Ohio Machine is last in the MLL standings with only one win, but it faces its best opportunity to improve on that this weekend. The Machine (1-7) will play a home-and-home series on back-to-back nights this weekend with the Hamilton Nationals (2-6). One more game means one more chance to win, and it comes against the team closest in the standings. It could also mean one last chance for…

Denver Outlaws Set Major League Lacrosse Attendance Record

One week ago today the Denver Outlaws broke the MLL attendance record when they defeated the Ohio Machine 17-13 in front of 30,128 fans. It was the team’s annual Fourth of July game, complete with post-game fireworks, and usually draws a large crowd. Last year’s game set the previous record with 27,184 fans coming out for the contest. Jr B Playoff Report: Halton Hills Going Home, But Not Quietly

To say the Clarington Green Gaels have had an easy time of their Junior B playoff run so far, would be an understatement. They eliminated the Mimico Mountaineers in three straight games outscoring the boys in blue 49-19. The Gaels drew Halton Hills in round two, which was supposed to be a more evenly matched playoff round. The Bulldogs sent Kahnawake home in three straight as well, although the scores…

Vincent Talbot Blog: Voyageurs Split the Weekend

This past weekend was a big one for our team and for the organization as a whole. First of all we hosted the Johnny Mourandian indoor lacrosse clinic on Thursday and Friday at the Essex Skating Facility. Johnny is the GM of the Philadelphia Wings as some of you may know and one of the most passionate lacrosse people I’ve ever met. On Thursday morning I’ve had the chance to…

The night before the Canadian Lacrosse League finals, Paul St John said his plans for the weekend were, “watch and enjoy the game, spend Sunday with my family. I might take Monday off, but then we’re back to work.” Truly, ever since we last checked in with CLax and saw the Ohsweken Demons hoist the Creator’s Cup, the commissioner and his office have been hard at work planning the 2013…

Boston Cannons vs Long Island Lizards Unit by Unit

This week the Boston Cannons will look to start a winning streak after their win over the Hamilton Nationals. Meanwhile the Long Island Lizards lost two games, both to the Rochester Rattlers. Goaltending To me, this is the best goaltending you can find in Major League Lacrosse. Jordan Burke is on pace to win goaltender of the year with the Cannons while Drew Adams won the award last season. Burke…

Hounds vs Outlaws Unit by Unit

The game between the Charlotte Hounds (3-6) and Denver Outlaws (6-3) could potentially make or break the Hound’s playoff hopes.  While they are a long shot to make the playoffs, with half of the season left it’s still a possibility. The Hounds and Outlaws sit and 6th and 2nd in the league, respectively. The Rattlers and Lizards are currently tied for 4th and the final playoff spot with a 5-4…
