Who: Fairfield @ Quinnipiac
Where: Hamden Connecticut
When: Tuesday, April 15, 2014 4pm
Nationally ranked Fairfield is ready to travel to Connecticut to take on Quinnipiac for a Thursday afternoon matchup. Fairfield has the overall lead on the series between the two, (4-1) over Quinnipiac. The past games have all been close, with two or three goals deciding the victor.
Fairfield is 9-3 this season
Fairfield’s Freshman starter, Dave Fleming had three goals last game, and has been a standout all season. Colin McLinden is leading the Stag’s offense by racking up 13 goals and 24 assists this season. Fairfield has a strong offense, and Jack Murphy is a strong asset in goal.
Quinnipiac is 5-5 this season, but their record doesn’t showcase the intensity of their games. Last time around, QU lost by only one point, which seems to be common for their losses. The team is strong, but has a hard time pressing past opponents in the end. Junior Michael Sagl is one of the leading scorers for the Bobcats, and he has contributed as many as five points per game. The Bobcats also have a brag worthy defense, ranked 32nd overall in goals allowed.
It will certainly be a great game tonight, as the two teams battle to better their record. This game will be the sixth time in both programs’ history that these two teams meet.
