The Rochester Rattlers look to improve from their 2013 season. Their 6-8 record was disappointing to many, as the team and fans thought they were capable of so much more. Rochester will have a few different faces this season, as they added multiple draft picks and offseason additions. However, familiar faces will be playing for other teams in 2014.
Key Additions: Jordan Wolf (Duke), Ty Thompson (Albany), Miles Thompson (Albany), Daniel Eipp (Harvard), MJ Kiekebelt (Denver), Grant Catalino (New York)
Key Departures: Ned Crotty (New York), Dan Groot (Denver)
The key additions the Rattlers made out number their departures. Ned Crotty and Dan Groot were a huge part of the Rochester team, but adding youth and depth at the attack and midfield positions was a goal for the Rattlers in offseason.
The Rattlers look to find success in the MLL in 2014. Their additions of Jordan Wolf and 2 members of the Thompson family will give them an instant offensive boost. Watch out for all their Collegiate Draft picks this season. They are all having impressive years for their respective schools. It is hard to say whether their NCAA success will transfer over to the MLL. I think the Rattlers will improve this season to be a playoff contender. It seems the first couple weeks of their season may be tough due to so many professional debuts. Look to see chemistry build up in the following weeks. The Rattlers do have what it takes to improve on their 2013 numbers.
