Crowley Inks 2 Year Deal with Wings…Miller Still Unsigned

Edit:  It has been confirmed, Kevin Crowley has been signed by the Wings.   11:04 pm  12/6/13

Fresh off the signing of Brett Manney for the 2014 season, the rumor winds started to howl again.  Word is from some very reliable sources that Wings forward Kevin Crowley has signed a new two year deal with the franchise.

A Crowley signing would obviously bolster the offense of the Wings, who have already signed Ryan Ward, Tracey Kelusky.  Crowley is the nucleus that the franchise needs to build around.

Crowley who was drafted number one overall in the 2011 draft registered 36 goals and 35 assists in his rookie season and was named to the All-Star team.  In 2012 he registered 34G/38A.  Standing at 6’4 and 200 pounds, Crowley brings a blistering shot from the outside, while he size and speed makes him a force to penetrate the inside.

Crowley has said before how much he loves playing in Philadelphia and the passion the fans show for not only the team, but for the game as well.

Now the next big step is to get veteran goalie Brandon Miller under contract.  Miller was deemed a franchised tag by the team along with defenseman Brodie Merrill.  Merrill is signed and in camp.  Miller is still unsigned.

With a trade just before the draft that brought Evan Kirk to Philadelphia, the fans had a smile as they could say they have a solid 1-2 punch between the pipes.

The fans have waited long enough to have a solid number two goalie, or should I say a #1 & 1A.   Now the fans once again will have to wait for that solid punch as veteran goalie Brandon Miller remains unsigned.  An unsigned Miller will obviously have fans scratching their heads.
