Before this weekend, the Toronto Rock were the only NLL team to have clinched a playoff seed. Now the Edmonton Rush are another with a win over that Rock team on Sunday and over the Buffalo Bandits the day before.
The Rush have been on a five game road trip and have swept the trip to up their record to 8-5 on the season, and a half game ahead of the Calgary Roughnecks for the western conference lead.
The Rush have also won seven of their last eight games after starting the season at 1-4. First overall pick Mark Matthews is now tied for the league lead in goals withj John grant Jr with 35 on the season.
Kyle Rubisch leads the NLL with 35 forced turnovers, 11 more than Geoff Snider of Calgary for the league lead. Meanwhile, Aaron Bold is second in the NLL with 8 wins and second in goals against average at 10.51.
Players like Ryan Ward and Corey Small, already proven goal scorers, are joined by Matthews and Curtis Knight along with transition man Jeremy Thompson to become a dangerous young and quick team. The rest of the league has to look at their road streak and be very afraid.
