Rush Will Try to Keep K’Hawks at Bay

The undefeated Edmonton Rush (4-0) will host the two-time defending NLL champion Rochester Knighthawks (3-1) on the Rexall Place turf tonight at 9 pm ET.

The Knighthawks are looking to bounce back after suffering their first loss of 2014 to the hands of in-state rival Buffalo Bandits last Saturday night at the First Niagara Center. Rochester will also look to capture their second franchise win over the Rush as Edmonton have won four of the five match ups against the Knighthawks.

Edmonton was able to keep their unbeaten streak alive after a slow startafter they clawed back to pick up the 9-8 victory. The 4-0 start is the longest in the franchises eight years.

The two teams match up nicely as each team has tremendous goaltending in Rochester’s Matt Vinc and Edmonton’s Aaron Bold, outstanding offenses and rock solid defenses. Bold leads the league in goals against average with 8.60 while Vince sits in second with 8.80.

Leading the way offensively for the Rush in 2013 NLL Rookie of the Year Mark Matthews. The Oshawa, ON native leads the Rush in all major offensive categories with 11 goals, 15 assists for 26 points.

Leading the offense for the Knighthawks once again is Cody Jamieson. The 2013 team leading scorer leads the team with goals (10) and points (22), while Dan Dawson is the team assist leader with 14 helpers.

Faceoff is set for 9 pm ET/7 MT and all the action can be caught YouTube.com/TheLacrosseNetwork .
