Hey guys, Max Schmidt here. It’s been a couple weeks since my last blog, so I’m here to bring you up to date with the Machine. We are currently sitting at 1-1. We started the season with a win against the Charlotte Hounds in Charlotte. This was the first time that the Ohio Machine had won a season opener. It was great to get the first win under our belts, especially in an environment like Charlotte, where the fans are strong and a major part of the atmosphere.
Our victory over the Hounds was hard fought, and it was the perfect way to jump-start the season. In week two, we traveled to Denver to play the Outlaws. This is always a great place to play because we have the opportunity to play at Sports Authority field where the Broncos play their football games. Like week one, we fought to the last whistle, but the game didn’t turn out the way we would have liked. We gave up a four-goal lead in the fourth quarter and ended up losing 14-12. One positive note from the weekend in Denver was that the team stayed together through the waves of high and low play.
Even though we may not have gotten the win, we fought hard as a team to the very last whistle, and we will be prepared for our game against the Outlaws later this season. This weekend we round out our three-game stretch of away games with a game against the Launch in Florida. This weekend should be another great test for us, and I am hoping that we can continue to improve as a team by putting our best foot forward.
The Ohio Machine has a locker-room full of great leaders and great people. We hold each other accountable throughout the week so we can give ourselves the best opportunity to win on the weekend. When game time comes, there are no people I would rather suit up with then the people in that locker-room.
