Shamrocks lock up with Salmonbellies

Tonight in the WLA the first place Victoria Shamrocks (9-4) take on the New Westminster Salmonbellies (4-8-1). The Shamrocks are coming off a 13-9 win over Coquitlam and will look to win their second straight game. While New Westminster will try to snap their three game losing streak and get back in the win column. Victoria won the only other meeting between these two teams this season as they defeated the Salmonbellies 10-7.

The key for Victoria in this game is to do what they do best and use their offense to overwhelm New Westminster. Corey Small and Cory Conway have been the one two knockout punch for Victoria this year and sit two and three in league scoring. The Shamrocks will want to spread the ball and generate shots on Neil Tyacke who has struggled this year. The Shamrocks will also need to keep an eye out for Jordan McBride as he is the key to the Salmonbellies offense and if they shut him down they will cripple New Westminster’s offense.

The key for the Salmonbellies will be to play tight defense without over extending themselves on offense. The Salmonbellies need to make sure they back check as they cannot allow the Shamrocks time in transition. The Shamrocks have shown how dynamic their offense can be with small openings so the Salmonbellies need limit the space and try to slow the pace of this game. Jordan McBride will need to do his best to avoid being contained and will need to try to get team mate Keegan Bal and Logan Schuss the ball if the Salmonbellies hope to have success.

In the end the Shamrocks will win this game due to their offense as no one has been able to stop the duo of Conway and Small and they will once again run rampant over the Salmonbellies.
