Swarm Blow Out Stealth 12-5

The Minnesota Swarm picked up a much needed fourth win of the season as they upset the first place Washington Stealth by a score of 12-5.

Dean Hill scored early to give Washington a 1-0 lead but two Minnesota goals would have them up 2-1 after one quarter of play.

Minnesota would score four times in the second and later on, five goals in the fourth as goaltender Tyler Carlson held the high scoring Stealth just five goals in the game, shutting them out in the third quarter.

Carlson made 48 saves on 53 shots in one of the best goaltending performances of the season. On the other end, Tyler Richards made 48 saves on 60 shots. Rhys Duch was the only multiple point getter for the Stealth with two goals and two assists.

Callum Crawford, the captain for the Swarm with Andrew Suitor injured, scored four goals to lead Minnesota. He also had four assists while Ryan Benesch picked up a hat trick. Jay Card also put two goals in the net.

The loss for Washington puts the Calgary Roughnecks just half a game back of them for first place. Meanwhile, the Swarm are tied for the cellar with the Colorado Mammoth at 4-7, however, the Mammoth have the tiebreakers. If the season ended today Minnesota is on the outside looking in, but they have plenty of time.
