Swarm Defeat Mammoth 14-10 in Pre Season

The first NLL pre season game concluded last night with the Minnesota Swarm taking a 14-10 victory over the Colorado Mammoth at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville, Ontario.

Jordan MacIntosh led the Swarm with three goals, followed by second year players Shayne Jackson and Kiel Matisz and rookie Scott Jones who each added two goals. Rookie Logan Schuss, the first overall pick in this year’s draft, also added a goal.

Tyler Carlson and Zach Higgins, the most likely goalie duo for the Swarm, split time with two quarters each. For the Mammoth, Mat McLeod, Jordan McBride and Jamie Lincoln scored twice.

The Mammoth also got goals out of rookie Dom Sebastiani, new faceoff man Bob Snider and veterans Jarrett Park and Sean Pollock. Eight of their ten goals came from their right handed shooters.

“You’re looking for guys who are trying to make the club,” said Mammoth coach Bob Hamley in a press release. “We’re carrying 27 runners and three goalies, and we’re just trying to find out who wants to be part of the 20-man roster and the practice roster. We were just trying to look at that tonight.”

Tonight the Mammoth take on Toronto while Minnesota travels to Rochester.
