Thunder Add Three Free Agents

The Langley Thunder look to be tipping the scales in the Western Lacrosse Association this week, signing Mark Matthews, Adam Jones and Jeremy Noble.Matthews has been one of the top junior lacrosse players for a while and had a terrific rookie season with the Edmonton Rush, winning the NLL rookie of the year. Matthews is property of the Brooklin Redmen in Major Series Lacrosse, along with Jones, a star with the NLL’s Colorado Mammoth. Jones was the last rookie of the year before Matthews.

Noble was the first overall pick to MSL’s Kitchener-Waterloo Kodiaks and is the projected first round pick in the 2014 NLL draft. He is considered potentially the top overall prospect in lacrosse.

The Thunder are tied for second place in the WLA with the Maple Ridge Burrards, who both have 12 points. Ahead of them with 14 points are the first place Victoria Shamrocks, who made their share of splashes in the off season. The Burnaby Lakers are two points back of the Thunder as well.
