Many people have wondered why Steve Toll opted to play in the Canadian Lacrosse League this season instead of the National Lacrosse League. He played with the Edmonton Rush last season and still has some great ability. So why chose CLax?
According to the Brampton Guardian, who spoke to the Inferno coach, Brian Beisel. Beisel said that Toll instead chose to play CLax because his new job in the Brampton area prevented him from in the NLL due to the schedule.
Toll was a second round pick for the Inferno, and Beisel expressed surprise that the Toronto Shooting Stars did not select him first and they were pleasantly surprised to pick him up.
Several NLL players were drafted into CLax, but Toll looks like one of the only sure bets to actually play in the league. Most of the draft picks still have a chance to make their NLL clubs, while Toll has the next few months to prepare for CLax.
