Top Goaltending Prospect Davide DiRuscio Breaks Leg

According to ILIndoor.com, the top ranked goaltending prospect in tonight’s National Lacrosse League draft, Davide DiRuscio, broke his leg yesterday.

According to the report, he broke it while moving furniture. The former Coquitlam Adanacs Jr goalie was projected to go to the Washington Stealth in the third round, according to the In Lacrosse We Trust official mock draft.

There isn’t any word on how bad the injury is or how long he would be out. A team like Toronto with a lot of picks might be willing to take a chance on him to work him in as a backup to young goaltender Nick Rose. The Knighthawks could also use a backup goaltender with Matt Vinc as the guy.

As a young goalie, it would take DiRuscio time to develop anyways so it shouldn’t be a long term thing that will hurt him. However, he might be selected a little bit later. He still looks to be a top goalie pick in the draft tonight.
