Ty Thompson is one of the main reasons the Thompson name is huge in the world of lacrosse. Ty grew up playing lacrosse on the Akwesanse Reservation. He grew up playing Junior B and A lacrosse for the Akwesasnse Indians helping lead the Jr. B team to the Founders Cup championship game in 2012.
Also in the summer of 2012 Ty suited up for the Toronto Beaches to finish out his Junior A career. For the last two Summers Kahnawake Mohawks have been the team Ty has called home while playing Senior B. Ty posted good numbers as a lefty forward for a second place finish in 2013 for the Presidents Cup and he showed the team to have another strong summer in 2014 leading the Mohawks back in the Presidents.
In field lacrosse is where Ty made a name for himself on the left side of Albany University attack line. In his four years at Albany Ty posted 184 points and went to the NCAA tournament both has a junior and senior. Ty also suited up for a game in the MLL in summer for the Rochester Rattlers where he had two big points on the night. Ty is also the first ever-sponsored Athlete by Epoch Lacrosse and Ty also plays a part in Thompson Lacrosse Company.
Ty can be a big impact in New England for many reasons. He is a great talent and knows how to put the ball in the back of the net and help his team get on the scoreboard. He also has great knowledge of the game and for being a rookie in the league it will help him get on the floor. Also he scores and moves the ball in very spectacular ways and many fans that loved to watch Albany or his YouTube highlights will come watch. My only question is will he be 91 or his old high school number 91. Either way Ty will do great things this NLL season.
