Two down, one more to go.
This past weekend saw the beginning of the final series of the Quebec Senior Lacrosse League opposing the Kahnawake Mohawks to the Vermont Voyageurs. After one weekend, the Voyageurs are up 2-0 in this best of five series.
This post will not be my longest as I don’t want to elaborate on a series that is far from over. The Mohawks are not an easy team to beat and they’ve proven it by finishing first in the regular season and beating us twice. What I will say though is that our team played an almost perfect weekend. We stayed focus or our game plan and battled hard both games for 60 minutes.
The fact that we are used to play back-to-back games also made a difference in my mind. We started the second game strong and our guys had the energy to make all the way through. Pat Poirier and myself split the weekend like we almost always do and we both did the job.
Having two capable goalies is key in a winning team in my opinion. Pat is older and more experienced than me; he teaches me little things all the time and makes me better every game.
We are heading back to Vermont Friday for game number 3.
