Will Pitt lacrosse ever move from MCLA to NCAA?

Pitt is one of the top competitors in the MCLA Division 1. With a 2013 record overall of 11-7, the Panthers were ranked No. 25 in the MCLA preseason coaches’ poll.  This ranking is three spots lower than Pitt was ranked going into the 2013 season at No. 22.

The Blue & Gold are looking forward to a challenging 2014, but one question remains: Will Pitt ever make the transition from the  Division I MCLA team to become a contender in the NCAA?

There are a few things that allude to the Panthers potentially crossing the border over to the NCAA. This probably will not take place for the 2015 season, but depending on how Pitt performs during the 2014 season, it is definitely possible that they will become and NCAA team and leave the world of MCLA behind them.

Pitt needs to make a commitment that they are going to improve their program if they ever want to become an NCAA team. The Panthers are hoping to do just this during their challenging 2014 season.

If Pitt can triumph over their difficult 2014 schedule, especially with match ups against their rivals Davenport  and MichiganState,  that will be the first sign that their skills are ready for a new challenge.

Head coach, Sean Buzzard only hopes to create an edge for the program that increases from season to season, so I believe that an NCAA appearance is definitely possible for Pitt in the upcoming years.
