The Wilmot Wild have been a part of the Junior C lacrosse circuit in Ontario for four years. Already, it seems like they are ready to make the jump to the next level.
The Wild have filed for reclassification to become a Jr B team in the Ontario Lacrosse Association. Wilmot has the highest attendance of any Jr C team and their players and staff are very successful in the sport of lacrosse throughout Ontario.
Jr C currently has 17 teams and Wilmot has been by far the most successful in growing their product for the past three years in at the Wilmot Recreation Center, which hosted the 2014 CLax all star game and festivities.
“Their proposal looks reasonable to me,” said Jr. B commissioner Dave Vernon of the Wild in an article by a Wilmot newspaper. “I think there is a fairly good chance their proposal will be accepted,”
There are 25 Jr B clubs currently and they will vote on if the Wild can join. They need 19 votes, 75%, in October in a metting in Toronto.
“I am going to wow them in the boardroom with what we can do,” said the Wild’s team president, Wayne Paddick in the article.
