The Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) today named Jim Milligan as the offensive coordinator for the 2014 season.

Milligan, who served as the Wings offensive coordinator during the 2012 season joins defensive coordinator Thomas Hajek under newly appointed head coach Blane Harrison.

“We’re happy to have Jim back on the bench, as he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the offense,” said Head Coach Blane Harrison. “We need to be better out the front door in order to achieve our goals, and Jim will help in that effort.”

“With Jim Milligan joining our staff, we gain an offensive coach with a lot of experience in Canadian Box Lacrosse,” said Team General Manager Johnny Mouradian. “‘Milly’ has won four Mann Cups with the Peterborough Lakers. He will also provide us with knowledge of the landscape of Canadian players and is very thorough with video, advanced game scouting and game preparation.”

A native of Peterborough, Ontario, Milligan will be joining his fifth NLL club. He started as an advance scout for the Rochester Knighthawks. He also worked three years as assistant coach for the Edmonton Rush. Milligan also served as an assistant coach with both the Chicago Shamrox and Toronto Rock. Most recently, Milligan acted in the same capacity of offensive coordinator with the Peterborough Lakers.

The Wings will announce their schedule for the 2014 season in early September.
