Swarm Open First Home Game Against Slumping Wings

The Philadelphia Wings and Minnesota Swarm face each other just 24 hours after the Swarm defeated the Wings 11-10 in Philadelphia on some questionable non-calls. Kevin Ross will be out with what appears to be a seperated right shoulder after a hit from behind into the boards from Andrew Suitor.

This is the Swarms home opener at the Hive for 2014 and winning yesterday on the road will obviously give the team some momentum. The Swarm will need to build on that momentum as Philadelphia will be coming out looking for revenge. Zach Higgins relieved Tyler Carlson just three minutes into the game yesterday, so Carlson is well rested to get the start unless they stay with Higgins as he came up big in yesterday’s win.

This will be Evan Kirk’s first return to the Hive since they traded him to the Wings. Kirk spent his first two years with the Swarm splitting the time with Carlson.

Wings will be hoping to see Kevin Crowley come out of his scoring slump. Crowley has only three goals in the first four games of the season. Jordan Hall and Kyle Buchanan lead the team with 20 points, and Hall leads with 11 goals.

The Wings have to avoid a second quarter collapse again.  After today’s game the Wings are off til Feb. 1st when the Stealth come to the Wells Fargo Center.
