The second tournament of the European Lacrosse League took place this weekend with the Wolves, Custodes, and Deutschland Adler all tying in the tournament with a 2-1 record. Only the Pietro Filipi team lost each game they played.
Game one saw Deutschland defeated the last tournament winner, the Wolves, by a score of 13-12. Jamie Plunkett and Pavel Dosley had two goals each for the winning team. Tomas Cekal made 27 saves.
The Custodes defeated Pietro Filipi in the second game, 9-6, to give the Custodes their first win of the tournament. No team went undefeated, as the Custodes were downed by the Wolves in the last game. Deutschland suffered their only loss to the Custodes.
Once again, Radek Skala of the Wolves led in points with 16, 15 of which were goals. Brian Tyacke from Deutschland was tied with 16 while Tomas Prochazka from the Custodes had 15. Klaus Hauer was ninth in scoring with seven points as the leading scorer for Pietro Filipi.
Cekel led the tournament with a 79% save percentage with Philip Hladky second at 34%. The next ELL tournament takes place on October 25th before the playoffs.
