2013 CLax Players to Watch

This year in Clax there are many players who will look to make a name for themselves but here are my top 5 players to watch as the 2013 season approaches.

5. Steve Fryer: Fryer was the Inferno’s top choice in the NLL supplemental draft and will have a lot of pressure on him this season. This past summer he was stellar with the Langley Thunder and helped them to advance to the Mann Cup. If Fryer can play like he did this summer he will be one of the top goaltenders in Clax this year.

4. Brad Favero: Favero was trader to the Niagara Lock Monsters by the Brampton Inferno. Favero is a St. Catharines Native and will look to repeat on the success he had in 2012. Favero had 35 goals and 21 assists for the inferno last season and if he can be a force for the Monsters they will make a run at the Creators cup.

3. Pat Saunders: In the offseason the Inferno traded away both Brad Favereo and Dylan Llord their top 2 point getters last season. Saunders will need to step up for the Inferno as he will be looked at to be a key piece of their offense. Saunders had 28 goals and 16 assists in 2012 expect him to improve on these numbers this year if the Inferno hope to go anywhere.

2. Jeff Powless: With the trade of Chris Atwood to the Iroquois Ironmen Powless job just became even harder. Powless was stellar for the Oshweken Demons last year and backstopped them to a Creators cup Championship. Powless will be relied on to stand on his head this year as the Demons offense will struggle this season. If Powless is on his game though he will be tough to beat for any offensive player.

1.  Chris Atwood: Atwood was a one man wrecking crew last season. Atwood will now have to carry the load for the Iroquois Ironmen who’s offense was one of the worst in Clax. Atwood put up 35 goals and 36 assists and will be looked upon to repeat this production for the Ironmen and if he can he will carry them back to the finals.
