Analysis: Launch Finally Take a Victory

Florida Launch v Chesapeake Bayhawks

The 2015 Florida Launch got in the win column with a, 15-12 win Saturday night at FAU Stadium.

David Earl opened the score at the 12:17 mark of the first quarter for the Florida Launch(1-3) as they hosted the Ohio Machine(1-3) Saturday night.

Following the Earl goal, the teams jogged into their locker rooms as lighting struck in the area. After a lighting delay that ran from, 7:17 to 8:30, both teams came out of the break running.

Machine attackman, Jimmy Dailey, tallied a hat trick, all jaw dropping goals and he scored, behind the back, around the world, top notch goals.

Steele Stanwick added three assists, while Marcus Holman had two goals an one assist.

The Florida Launch attack was clicking even more than their opponents. Kieran Mcardle poured in five goals, two assists. Casey Powell contributed with two goals, four assists, while Kevin Cunningham found the back of the net twice, both in the fourth quarter.

The Launch really needed to earn their first victory, coach Stan Ross said the boys were “motivated for the game, had a great practice last night and chipper shoot around this morning.”

Florida will be without Brett Queener, Miles Thompson, and Lyle Thompson next game as University of Albany moved on to play next weekend in the NCAA tournament.

Florida will host Denver next weekend as the Machine will await a matchup with the Charlotte Hounds.

NOTES: Launch back up goalie starting in place of Queener, Adam Fullerton started and was replaced by 3rd string Charlie Cipriano following the lighting delay for an undisclosed reason.
