Bullies and Rascals Make First PLL Trade

Yesterday the New Jersey Rascals picked up their first players, and it did not take long for the team to trade the rights to one of them away. The Rascals and the Jacksonville Bullies made the first trade in league history, with Jersey trading the rights to Brett Moyer in exchange for Andrew Kirkaldy and a second round pick in tonight’s collegiate draft.

Moyer, a defenseman, played in 10 games with the Philadelphia Wings back in 2008. He also played three seasons with the Philadelphia Barrage of the MLL from 2006 to 2008. He is currently a member of the LXM Pro Tour. He was a three time All-American and two time Conference Defender of the Year at Hofstra.

Andrew Kirkaldy played his college ball at Gordon College, a Division III school. He currently is a member of the Vermont Voyageurs of the CanAm league after transferring from the Namaimo Timbermen.

Tonight is the league’s first collegiate draft which is underway at 7:00 pm eastern. The Copperheads hold the first pick, followed by Reading, New Jersey, and Jacksonville. With this trade the Rascals now have two second round picks tonight.
