Canadian Lacrosse Notebook: July 19th

The Junior playoffs are underway while the Sr A and B seasons are in their stretch runs, read on for details.

Quebec Senior Lacrosse League

The Snake Island Muskies defeated the Vermont Voyageurs 12-8. Brandon Dube of Vermont scored four points to lead the game. Tomorrow the Voyageurs play the Kahnawake Mohawks while the Capital Region Axemen play the US Devo team.

Can- Am League

So far in the playoffs we have seen the Tomahawks top the Braves and the Slash top the Smoke. Now the Tuscora Tomahawks will play the Onondaga Redhawks for this round while the Six Nations Slash play the Newtown Golden Eagles. Those games start tonight.

The Tomahawks have dominated the playoffs so far, with Emmett Printup, Scott Johnston and Mark White leading the playoffs in scoring. Clayton Staats and Brent Longboat have been the leaders for the Slash.

OLA Senior B

So far Norwood has defeated the Owen Sound North Stars in the playoffs while the Brooklin Merchants topped the Sarnia Beavers. Now Brooklin faces the top seeded St. Catharines Saints and Norwood plays the Six Nations Rivermen.

Coady Adamson of the Merchants and Norwood’s Kyle Clancy, a former Buffalo Bandit, lead the playoffs with 11 points each. Josh Wasson, a former Minnesota Swarm, is second with nine points with Norwood.

Other notable players in the playoffs are Mike McNamara from Buffalo on Norwood, Brooklin’s Brock Levick, a prospect and Philadelphia Wings goalie Kevin Croswell.
