CLax Has Playoff Implications in Final Weekend

We are in the stretch run of the Canadian Lacrosse League season and that means teams are making their playoff runs. The Barrie Blizzard are basically in, but there are several different scenarios.

First, the games this week include Southwest at Durham and Barrie at Ohsweken. At 2-6, the Niagara Lock Monsters are the only team without a playoff shot.

Barrie just needs a win over the Ohsweken Demons to clinch the first overall seed in the playoffs. However, if the Demons win by four goals, and the Cyclops lose, they will take over the top seed.

If the Blizzard lose by one goal to the Demons and the Southwest Cyclops lose to the Durham TurfDogs they can still take the top seed. They could fall all the way to third place if the Demons win by four or more and the Cyclops win by a specific goal total.

If the Cyclops win at all on Saturday the Demons will be the third seed no matter what.

The TurfDogs only chance of moving beyond the last seed would be if they defeat the Cyclops by five goals and the Blizzard defeat the Demons.

There’s a lot on the line for all four teams in action.
