The game of the week may have been on Thursday night with No. 1 RIT dropping No. 2 Cortland, 18-11. Both teams will have decent games ahead of them over the weekend, but are their games among the ones you should absolutely keep an eye on? Don’t worry, I’ll help you make that decision.

Three Ya Gotta See

  1. No. 14 Montclair State at No. 16 St. Mary’s, 12:00 pm Saturday—As one of the only Top 20 matchups, I feel compelled to put this one at the top of the list. Montclair already made its statement for the season with its upset win over Dickinson and St. Mary’s could use another signature win after Roanoke has limped through the first few games of the season, lessening the impact of that win. The Seahawks have gone win/loss every game this year though and if that pattern holds, Saturday could be a disappointing day in St. Mary’s City.
  2. No. 19 Gettysburg at Eastern, 1:00 pm Saturday—This game has huge (read: MAJOR) Pool B implications as Eastern looks to strengthen its strong start with a win over a ranked team. The Eagles missed out on the tournament last year, but have the look of a Pool B lock in 2014. The Bulletts have managed to land on this list week after week but will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak on Saturday. Lots of reasons to monitor this one.
  3. a) No. 6 Cabrini at Nazareth, 12:00 pm Saturday
    b) No. 8 Denison at Stevens, 1:00 pm Saturday
This is a bit of a cop out, but these games are interesting for the same reasons. Stevens and Nazareth entered the season ranked and with a ton of expectations but have stumbled out of the blocks and are looking for some redemption. Cabrini and Denison seem dug in in the top 10 and will be looking to take care of business on Saturday. Either way, both games will produce a signature win for whomever comes away with victory.
