Villanova is traveling to Maryland to take on the Terps this weekend.  This will be the 8th time the teams are meeting, and Maryland is 7-0 overall against the Wildcats.

Villanova is 1-3 this season, and are traveling with high hopes of upsetting the 5-0 Terps tonight. During their last meeting in 2013, Villanova was within one point of Maryland and the score was tied four times during the match.  The Wildcats will certainly need to be on top of their game if they want to strive for the same intensity.  Dan Willis, Nova’s freshman goalie, has 43 saves on the year and rightfully claimed his starting position. As for the offense, Senior Kevin O’Neil leads in scoring with 10 points this season.

Maryland is ranked as the number one team with their pristine 5-0 record.  They have a very strong and capable team this year, which is going to set a great tone for their BIG 10 performances in 2015.  The Terps may find a challenge with their spring break schedule.  The team is used to playing one game a week, but during the “break” they will compete in 3 games over an 8 day span.

Defender Brian Cooper has been an exceptional leader for the Terps this season, and Goalkeeper Niko Amato has been making critical saves since the start of the season.

The meeting between the Terps and Wildcats in 2013 was one of the most intense of the season, and fans are looking forward to the same level of play tonight.
