March 30, 2021

Fun, inclusivity and respect. Those were the repetitive themes over the nearly 40 sessions that made up Ontario Lacrosse University last weekend. Hosted as a series of Zoom calls open for free to OLA members, or to the public for $25, the online conference filled the void of the cancelled OLA meetings and annual LaxCon with a virtual Ted Conference with lacrosse vibes. ILWT Feature: No more Miller time in Philadelphia

December 16, 2020

Brandon Miller retired from the National Lacrosse League much like he began his lacrosse career – quietly making an impact and moving on to do great things. And, if it seems like history is repeating itself, that is because it is. It is no longer Miller Time in Philadelphia. Miller first retired after the 2018 season where he’d been with the Toronto Rock for four and a half years after…

ILWT Feature: Medicine Game was therapeutic process for author Delby Powless

December 11, 2020

Today we get to do something fun and chat with the author of one of the best new books of the season, and of course it’s about lacrosse. Medicine Game is written by Delby Powless,…

REVIEW: Powless’ Medicine Game should be under every lacrosse fan’s Christmas tree

December 10, 2020

My first job was at Chapters, which was the family business as I grew up. I am a book snob. I have no problem admitting that. While the phrase “don’t judge a book by its cover” has generally come to mean “don’t judge a person by their looks,” I absolutely judge actual books by their covers. I mean, you can take one look at a romance novel and know everything…

NLL: Rock shore up at faceoff in 2020 draft

September 21, 2020

The Toronto Rock entered Thursday night’s draft with the fewest picks of all the teams. Arguably, they had the fewest holes to fill. General Manager Jamie Dawick ended up trading a future pick as the Rock added six young players to their ranks. It was a long wait for the first pick, 30th overall. With it the Rock made a somewhat surprising pick in TD Ierlan from Yale. On the…
