Thursday afternoon the Philadelphia Barrage (2-3) defeated the New York Lizards (0-5) 12-11. Colin Minicus would net the game winner with 1:55 remaining. This was a game where the winner would increase their chances at a playoff berth, and the loser would go home and wait for next season. The first quarter started out with a bang as the Barrage and Lizards would combine for three goals in 34 seconds….
It used to be that, on average, entire professional lacrosse rosters were made up of two groups. One group of professional players (the majority group in Major League Lacrosse) came from Division I colleges and universities in the United States. The second group was made up of outstanding Canadian players without the experience of collegiate Division I play in the United States. It seemed like a player had to fit into…
The Boston Cannons came from behind to defeat the Philadelphia Barrage 12-10 during another sweltering game in Annapolis. The heat and the quick turnaround seemed to impact both teams. However, the consummate professionals played hard. Some even played while limping off the field and racing back on the next time their turns came. It is easy to tell that so many of these players are out there because of their love for…

The Philadelphia Barrage beat the Connecticut Hammerheads 14-10 during another sweltering afternoon of Major League Lacrosse action. It was a battle between the new kids on the block, both teams coming into the game 0-2. Spencer Ford must be relieved to get the first win in the books for Philadelphia. Connecticut is still in the hunt for win number one. Lacrosse is a game of runs and this game was no exception. The…
Sorry… Ward, who? Currier, who? Sunday, the Denver Outlaws defeated the Philadelphia Barrage (0-2) 15-10 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium as the MLL continues its shortened season in Annapolis. In our Outlaws’ team preview, we mentioned the loss of two bonafide stars to the PLL. But an impressive 2-0 start for the Outlaws has the team looking even better than they did the last four years challenging for the MLL…
On Saturday the Philadelphia Barrage returned to the playing field after an 11-year absence and faced the defending champion Chesapeake Bayhawks. Unfortunately, the Barrage just fell short by falling 16-11. Tommy Palasek got the ball rolling for the Barrage by scoring the first of his three goals of the MLL season to start the Barrage on a quick three-goal run. Mark Matthews and Shayne Jackson would find the back of…
A “barrage” is a bombardment; a shower or shelling; an offensive onslaught. And the newly reinstated Philadelphia Barrage of Major League Lacrosse are hoping they can live up to the name. They’ll quickly learn if they have a wide range of relentless talent when they start their season against the Chesapeake Bayhawks in the inaugural game of the 2020 season. The Barrage may quickly have its hands full—something Philadelphia players and fans are…
Prior to the Major League Lacrosse entry draft on May 4, the Philadelphia Barrage honoured one of In Lacrosse We Trust’s own. Photographer Laura Kupsey was selected as an honourary draft pick in recognition for her 17 years of work as a registered nurse in the Philadelphia area where she is currently on the front lines helping those affected by the COVID-19 virus. Kupsey joined ILWT in 2018 to provide…
