Loyola Takes on Towson In Third Straight Against Ranked Team

In a great Wednesday game the Greyhounds make the short trip to take on the Tigers at 12:00pm. This will be the 57th all time meeting between these 2 teams. With the weather here in Maryland lately I’m sure that both coaches will be looking to see how their teams will bounce back after limited full field practice. Sounds like a great reason to take a long lunch break if your anywhere around Baltimore.

This will be Loyola’s third straight game against a ranked opponent. The 8th ranked Greyhounds are coming off a big win against a good Penn State team. With the defense causing 22 turnovers in that game they will look to keep it rolling against the Tigers. Juniorattack man Zach Herreweyers will be looking to get his 3rd hat trick in as many games. Goalie Pat McEnerney coming off an 8 save game will be trying for his second career win in the NCAA.

Loyola’s first midfield unit has 3 of the teams top scorers in Tyler Albrecht, Romar Dennis and Brian Sherlock. Face off man Graham Savio has been about 50% so far at the X this season and will look to improve against Towson.

With Towson coming off a huge win against Johns Hopkins University, there is no doubt they will be looking to keep it up against Loyola. The 14th ranked Tigers will be trying to keep moving up in the polls again this week. Junior Tyler White will no doubt be tested in cage but will have a lot of confidence after making 12 saves in his last outing. Sophomores Ryan Drenner and Joe Seider will be looking to keep up their impressive performance from Feb. 10th against JHU with a combined 6 points. Also midfielder returning from an injury last season had 2 goals last game after missing all of 2014. The defense held Hopkins to 2 goals in the last 50mins. of the game and will need to match that against a tough Loyola defense.
