Miller Mann Cup Performance Proving He Can Lead Rock

At the 2014 NLL trade deadline in March, the Toronto Rock were in the midst of a losing 6-8 record with starting goaltender Nick Rose struggling to keep the team afloat. This was the perfect opportunity for Toronto Rock General Manager Terry Sanderson to announce that the team had traded for Philadelphia Wings starting goaltender Brandon Miller. Sanderson hoped that by bringing Miller aboard, he would be able to assist Rose and the Rock in restoring the team back to their former glory.

With Miller between the pipes, the Rock rallied back to a 9-9 record by winning three out of their last four games and earning the second seed in the East Division.

“Brandon came in last season and was a big part of us making the playoffs,” said Sanderson. “With Nick Rose and Steve Fryer alongside Brandon, we have great depth in goal and that depth sets us up very nicely to compete with the top teams in the league.”

Miller’s success with the Toronto Rock this previous season has followed him into his summer Major Series Lacrosse duty with the Six Nations Chiefs.

At the present time, the team is one win away from winning back-to-back Mann Cup championships. One of the major reasons that the Chiefs are in their current predicament is also due to the outstanding play from Miller.

During the 2014 Major Series Lacrosse regular season, Miller was the top goaltender in the league. In eight starts, Miller went 4-2 and led the entire league in goals allowed with 46, goals allowed average with 7.35 and save percentage with .820.

Miller’s incredible regular season success has continued on into the post-season as well with the Chiefs. In the playoffs right now, Miller is the top goaltender with a 5-1 record in 12 starts and leads the league in goals against average with 6.49 and save percentage with .848.

With Miller playing some of the best lacrosse he has ever played, the current wave of excitement has Toronto Rock looking forward to the upcoming season and the possibilities of another championship.
