This week saw Ohio get their first win and Denver get their seventh, but players from all over the league stepped up for their team.
First star:
Jesse Schwartzman (Denver Outlaws) – Coming into the game against the Outlaws, the Bayhawks were on fire. The offense was firing on all cylinders, and it looked like they would be able to give the undefeated Outlaws a run for their money. However, Schwartzman (with some help from rookie Eric Law) was able to lead his team to a 13-9 victory. Schwartzman spent the full game in the cage and saved 17 of 26 shots on goal (65%).
Second Star:
Joe Cummings (Ohio Machine) – The Machine desperately needed a win after starting off (0-6) in their second MLL season; and that’s exactly what Cummings delivered. He got a lot of help from his young teammates, but Cummings led the Machine with five points on five goals. He was named the MVP of the 13-9 win over the Rattlers and his team now has a win and can put that behind them.
Third Star:
Eric Law (Denver Outlaws) – In just his second MLL game, the Denver University alum led his team with five points on five goals. Law has yet to miss a shot in MLL action, making all nine of the shots he has attempted. It’s never easy to overshadow the league’s third highest scorer in Brendan Mundorf, but Law did just that in the 13-9 win over Chesapeake and for that we give him our third star.
