NALL: Bombers Look for Revenge on Rockhoppers

The Baltimore Bombers split last weekend in Kentucky, their last game being a loss in overtime, and today they face their new rivals the Boston Rockhoppers. In their last meeting, Boston defeated Baltimore 20-9 in a blowout.

Baltimore was without several players who should be back this week, and they face Vince Talbot in net after Nick Schroeder, Boston’s starter at the beginning of the season, was released this week.

Leading the way for Baltimore is Andrew Wasik, leading the league in points. He is countered by Boston’s point leader Andrew Kirkaldy along with Mike Stone who has 13 goals.

In Kentucky two weeks ago, Matt Hickman was the man for Baltimore with 11 goals. However, Boston plays a much tighter defense than Kentucky and Talbot is as hot as can be in net. Dan Deckelbaum needs to be put in better positions on offense to get more chances for that team’s scoring unit.

On the Boston offensive end, they’ve been able to score all season on anyone at any time. They were given wide open lanes against Baltimore last game, but it’s hard to imagine they get that many easy chances two games in a row. The Bombers defense needs to protect their goaltender Ginny Capicchioni better.

A win for Boston would be their fifth while Baltimore would grab their fourth. With a win the Rockhoppers take a commanding two game lead on the Bombers while Baltimore has a chance to move into first place with a tiebreaker advantage.
