Drexel and Penn Meet in Philadelphia Rivalry

Who: Drexel (12-4) @ Upenn (11-3)

Upenn will host Drexel for a backyard brawl this Sunday for the first round of the NCAA tournament.
The two teams will be going head to head for the 30th time in each schools history. Penn leads the standings by holding wins for 21 of those games. The teams have not met since 2008, and this weekend’s matchup will be the first time the teams will be playing for an NCAA title.
Tensions are high between the two teams, as five seasons ago, head coach Brian Voekler left Upenn to begin his career at Drexel
This weekend marks UPenn’s 12th NCAA championship tournament appearance,but this will be their first time hosting the match.
Upenn has some brag worthy players that will be a key factor in their success this weekend including  senior Zack Losco, who holds two first team all ivy titles. Losco has been on fire this season, and has contributed to more than 25 of UPENN’s overall points.
This meeting will be Drexels first ever NCAA tournament face off. Drexel’s attack line is led by senior Nick Tirzano, who has been referred to as one of the most versatile players in the game, as he also thrives in midfield. Ben McIntosh has also been contributing greatly to Drexels success this season, and he is said to be on his way to a second all-American title.
This matchup will be one composed of a friendly rivalry and some fierce competition to be the team representing philly in the NCAA quarterfinals. The winner of Sundays match will be up against the victor of the Denver vs North Carolina game set for May 18th.
