Non-Conference Games

There are only two non-conference games today and both play at 7pm tonight. #10 Duke (7-4) just watched their basketball team make it to the Elite 8 and will try to make a statement with out of league play against Ivy Leaguer Harvard (4-4). After getting pummeled by Maryland, the Blue Devils have bounced back nicely to win five in a row, including victories over Loyola and North Carolina.

In Pennsylvania, #16 Penn State hops on the bus to take on Villanova. It’s a homecoming for some of the Penn State players as Sturgis (Downingtown East), Kaut (Springfield-Delco_ and Forster (La Salle) look to make their travel home a successful one over the Wildcats.

ESPNU Games

Two great games will be aired live on ESPNU today. The #8 Jays from Johns Hopkins travel South to butt heads with the #6 Tar Heels of North Carolina at Noon. Following up with one of the biggest games in college lacrosse as Virginia takes on Maryland in an ACC matchup at 2pm today.

The Minutemen have fallen off the radar a little bit but bounced right back on after downing Lehigh 6-4 and Hartford 13-11. SJU and UMass both are seeking to grab their first CAA win. Towson (5-5, 1-0) and #15 Hofstra (6-3, 1-1) start at 7pm tonight with each team looking to get their second CAA win.

ECAC

One of the busier conferences today. Fairfield Stags (6-3) are 2-0 in conference play and will try to make it 3-0 with Bellarmine coming to town. The Knights are 6-2 overall, 2-2 ECAC and dropped a heart breaker to Ohio State 9-7. Since their loss to Yale, the Stags have gone on a 3-0 run, most recently a 13-10 victory over Hobart. Speaking of Hobart (4-4, 1-1), they start todays games off with their matchup against conference foe #4 Denver at 11am. The Wolverines are 0-4 in conference play with the Falcons standing at 0-3. Each team will be looking to get their first conference win, for Michigan their first win of the season, and try to boost morale.

Big East

#1 Notre Dame (6-1, 1-0) will try to wether the storm as #20 Saint John’s (6-2, 1-1) comes to town to try and knock off the number one seeded Irish. To the East, fellow Big Easters Providence (6-3) and Rutgers (2-7) take on each other. The Friars and Scarlet Knights are both 0-2 in Big East play, making this game even more crucial for each to win.
