NCAA Tourney Four Games To Watch This Weekend

This Weekend, I expect Syracuse, Duke, Loyola and Maryland to advance in the NCAA Tournament. The following four games at varying degrees are toss ups in my opinion.

Saturday

Notre Dame hosts Harvard

Notre Dame is coming off a shootout victory versus Army, while Harvard limps into the tournament after being defeated by UPENN in the Ivy Tournament. Notre Dame has continued to improve in the cage as well in transition with Jack Near becoming a huge two way threat for the Irish. If this game turns into a 6 v 6 matchup, Harvard has the potential to win a slow paced game.

The Irish will control the pace of play with a suffocating defense and quick strike offense. With their athleticism, Notre Dame advances by three over the Crimson.

North Carolina at Denver

I love the Tarheels, I love the Tarheels, I love the Tarheels. I click my heels and make a wish. Tune back to my twitter feed on Saturday Night to see if my wish comes true.

Sunday

Johns Hopkins at Virginia.

My six year old son likes Hopkins, I like Virginia. It going to be an interesting Mother’s Day. The Bluejays need to score more than 11 to win this game. Virginia has to get a strong contribution from James Pannell and Ryan Tucker for a victory. There is no better place to go watch a game than Klockner Stadium in Charlottesville, the fans will be in for a treat as I predict a Cavaliers victory over a strong Johns Hopkins team. Cavs roll by two.

Drexel travels to UPENN

Cheesesteak Bowl. The Quakers are playing well at the right time with the Feeney brothers dominating in the goal and at faceoff. The Dragons will counter Nick Saputo who has been a beast for the CAA champs. With Saputo controlling the face-offs and the balanced scoring of Ben McIntosh, Cole Shafer and Nick Trizano will be too much for UPENN to handle. In an upset, I’m taking the Dragons by three.
