This Sunday, the undefeated Syracuse will head to Virginia to take on the Cavaliers in weekend NCAA lacrosse action. What can only be described as a lopsided match-up, Virginia could be staring a record of 1-3 right in the face against the Orange.
After a 0-2 start, Virginia captured their first win of the season this past Wednesday against Richmond. They lost their first two games by a narrow margin; leaving some to believe they may be able to compete against more talented teams. Syracuse; however, it not just a talented team—they are an absolute powerhouse, running over every team that has been in their way thus far.
The Orange have won their first three games by a total of 64-13; a staggering margin that proves just how good their offense really is. What should be considered is that these wins game against subpar teams, as Syracuse has yet to face a true competitor.
For Syracuse, their leading scorer is Kayla Treanor with eleven, while Alyssa Murray is close behind with ten. Between the two, they have scored nearly half of Virginia’s total goals this season (42) far. Containing these two competitors will have to be priority for Virginia if they have any hope of making this a game.
Syracuse @ Virginia kicks off at 1:00pm this Sunday, February 23rd in Charlottesville, VA.
