QSLL Notebook: Vermont Battles USA

The Quebec Senior Lacrosse League has just a few weeks left and the races are getting tight. Read on for updates on the action.On Thursday the Snake Island Muskies took a 15-6 win over the Cornwall Island Redmen. Brodie Merrill (Philadelphia Wings, Hamilton Nationals) picked up six points for the Muskies while Josh Sanderson (Toronto Rock) had an assist.

Seth Oakes added five points and Rusty Kruger had four. Patrick Merrill (Toronto Rock) picked up two assists as well for the Muskies in the win. For the Redmen, Tekari Thompson led the team with three points and Tory Bigtree allowed just three goals in 36 minutes.

Later today the Kahnawake Mohawks face the Capital Region Axemen. The Mohawks are 7-1 on the season and lead the QSLL while the Axemen are in second place at 6-5-1. Tim Bergin and his 51 points lead the Axemen into the battle while the Mohawks are led byCallum Crawford (Minnesota Swarm).

Even later on tonight the Vermont Voyageurs, at 2-8 on the season, face the USA Developmental team. Brandon Dube and Ethan Farrell of the Voyageurs are fifth and sixth in the league in scoring while the US Devo team which has developed players such as Ryan Hotaling and Greg Rogowski. That game kicks off tonight at 7pm.
