Rock Activate Cam Woods

Toronto Rock General Manager Terry Sanderson has announced a couple of roster moves prior to Saturday night’s game in Langley, British Columbia against the Vancouver Stealth.

Recently signed defender Cam Woods has been moved from the practice roster to the team’s active roster.  To make room for the transaction, defenceman Mike Lum-Walker has been moved to the team’s practice roster.

“Cam has progressed quickly through a few practices and is ready to play,” said Rock Head Coach John Lovell.  “He brings a presence both on the floor and in the locker room.”

Woods retired after the 2013 season and had begun to pursue a new career that would limit his ability to play in the NLL.  The Rock signed Woods to the team’s practice roster just minutes before the roster freeze deadline on March 20th.  The former NLL defensive player of the year has kept in great shape while he’s been away from the game and will be available to play on Saturday night against the Stealth.

The roster move is pending league approval.

Following their trip out west, the Rock will return home for a pivotal game against the team they are currently tied with in the East Division standings, the Philadelphia Wings on Saturday, April 12th at 7pm at Air Canada Centre.  For more information, please visit www.torontorock.com or phone 416-596-3075 to speak with a ticket representative get your hands on the BEST ticket in town.
