Rush Top Roughnecks in Controlled Exhibition

The Edmonton Rush were able to defeat the Calgary Roughnecks in a controlled exhibition game in Alberta yesterday afternoon as the Rush moved on to 2-0 in the pre season. The Roughnecks are also 1-1 in the pre season after the loss.

Out for Calgary was Dane Dobbie, Shawn Evans, Geoff Snider, Kaleb Toth, Andrew McBride and Curtis Manning. It is the second pre season game that Toth did not play in.

The roster for Calgary needs to be cut down to 23 by Thursday like the rest of the league. Frankie Scigliano made fifteen saves while Matt Flindell made eight and Mike Poulin made 23 over two quarters.

Rookie Jackson Decker scored two goals while they also saw goals from Darren Kinnear, Andrew Murphy, Scott Ranger and Daryl Veltman. Rookie and first round pick Joe Resetarits scored a hat trick.

Rookie Michael Burke scored three goals for the Edmonton Rush while they got doubles from Tom Johnson and Alex Turner. Other goals went to Corey Small, Jeremy Thompson, Zack Greer, Jeff Cornwall, John Lafontaine, Cory Conway and Mark Matthews.
