The cuts in the National Lacrosse League began today with a bang as the Vancouver Stealth have cut forwards Athan Iannucci and Dean Hill. Iannucci has been a star in the NLL with the single season scoring record at 71 goals with Philadelphia years ago. Hill has bounced around in his career but had seemed to find a home in Washington the past few seasons.
Making the roster over Iannucci an Hill were rookies Sean Lundstrom and Cody Bremner. Bremner was a first round pick of the Stealth while Lundstrom went undrafted but impressed enough in camp to make the roster. According to the Province in Vancouver, the cut of Iannucci was not related to the new salary cap.
Meanwhile, the Stealth will be without Brett Bucktooth or Mitch McMicheal to start the season as they will both be on injured reserve. The scoring depatment for the Stealth will include Rhys Duch, Brett Hickey, Tyler Digby, Alex Gajic, Cliff Smith, Lewis Ratcliff, Sean Lundstrom and Cody Bremner.
