Stealth Release Pre Season Schedule

The Washington Stealth has released its schedule of preseason activities, as the team prepares for the 2013 National Lacrosse League season. The preseason schedule begins with a Tryout Camp on November 17 and 18 and continues with four training camp weekends in December.

On Saturday, November 17, the Stealth will be holding a pair of tryouts for players that are unsigned by NLL teams. The invite-only tryout will consist of three sessions, two on November 17 and one November 18. The November 17 tryouts will take place at Soccer First in Arlington, Wash., from 10am-12pn and again from 6:30pm-8:30pm. On November 18, the tryout session will be from 9:30am-11:30am at the Comcast Arena at Everett. All three sessions are open to the public.

“We are excited to hold our first tryout camp since moving to Washington,” said Stealth General Manager Doug Locker.  “With the amount of talent available this is a perfect opportunity to take a look at a strong group of free agents along with some of our recent draft selections.”

The 2013 Stealth Training Camp will be held over four weekends in December, beginning December 1. 40 players will be doing battle for a spot on the regular season rosters, which consists of a 23-man active roster and a three-man practice roster. There will be two sessions at Soccer First in Arlington on December 1 from 9:30am-11:30am and 7pm-9pm. On December 2, the team will be back at Comcast Arena for a session from 11:30am-1:30pm. All three sessions of the weekend are open to the public.

The second weekend of training camp will be December 8 and 9 at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, British Columbia. There will be two sessions on December 8 from 8am-10am and 3pm-5pm, followed by one Sunday session on December 9 from 12:15pm-2:15pm. Stealth training camp at the Langley Events Centre will be part of a full weekend of lacrosse, which includes an exhibition game between the Colorado Mammoth and Calgary Roughnecks.Stealth players and coaches will take part in a Coaches Chalk Talk and Players Clinic as well. Fans with tickets to the exhibition game will be able to attend all of the training camp sessions. For more information on the weekend’s events at the Langley Events Centre, visit www.langleyeventscentre.com.

The Stealth will be holding two more practices before the regular season rosters are due to be submitted to the National Lacrosse League. There will be a closed session on December 15 from 7:30pm-9:30pm. The following day, there will be a practice session open to 2013 Stealth Season Ticket Holders from 11am-1pm. Regular season rosters will be submitted to the NLL on December 20.

The final training camp weekend will take place on December 29 and 30 at the Comcast Arena. On December 29, the morning session from 11am-1pm will be open to the public, followed by a closed session from 6pm-8pm. On December 30, the 9:30am-11:30am session is also closed to the public.

“We are expecting to have as much talent as we’ve ever had in training camp,” said Stealth Head Coach Chris Hall. “There will be players competing for roster spots at every position and it will undoubtedly make for a spirited camp. We expect to be a championship-caliber team this and every year; it all starts with hard work and focus from day one of training camp.”
