Stony Brook Takes on UMass Lowell

Stony Brook slide
Stony Brook will take on first year program UMass Lowell in this America East show down. Stony Brook is in the hunt for a conference championship and is being led by senior Mike Rooney. The East Islip product is second in Division I in points with sixty-seven so far this year only behind Lyle Thompson by one point for the top spot. While Rooney is averaging  6.1 points per game, juniors from B.C Canada Brody Eastwood has forty-two points and Challen Rogers has thirty-one. Eastwood is coming off a six goal game and a five goal game against Princeton so he is coming in hot for this game.
Midfielder Chris Hughes out of Oceanside NY is also another treat of offense scoring twenty-six points at the moment. In net, the freshman out of Penn Yan Brandon Maciejewski has seemed to take over the starting role with twenty-six saves in the last four games and all together has fifty saves on the year.
For UMass Lowell is at a 1-9 record with their only win coming versus fellow first year program NJIT. Freshman Jon Philips is leading the way with seventeen points. while goalie Giles Ober has eighty-eight saves on the year. Albany took this team down 25-0 I look for Stony Brook to walk away with a blow out win while players such as Mike Rooney. With a 9-2 record look for the Sea Wolves to get their tenth win on the year.
