Black Wolves Challenge Nine Win Mammoth

Tonight the Colorado Mammoth (9-3) will visit the New England Black Wolves (7-4).  These teams met just four weeks ago with the Mammoth coming up on top by a score of 14-13.

Both teams have been playing very strong in keeping pace in their respective divisions.  Colorado clinched a playoff berth last week in their win, while the Black Wolves put a big weekend sweep against the Rochester Knighthawks last weekend putting them in a two game lead for second place and only a half game out of first in the east.

When they met on March 5, Adam Jones torched them for seven goals, after coming off a six goal performance the week prior.  John Grant Jr., and Jeremy Noble each had two goals and four assists.  Colorado will be without Noble as he serves his two game suspension.

The Black Wolves were held somewhat in check in the game as none of the big stars could really get on a roll as they usually do.  Shawn Evans had six points (2 G, 4 A), Jordan Hall and Kevin Buchanan each had a hat trick, while Kevin Crowley had six assists.  Last week, Shawn Evans put up 18 points (10 G, 8 A) and Kevin Crowley had 15 points (3 G, 12 A) in the weekend matchup versus Rochester.

A win for Colorado will at least keep them in a tie for first with Saskatchewan and clinch at least one home playoff game.  Even with a loss they can still clinch a home game with a Calgary and a Vancouver loss.

For the Black Wolves, a win could vault them into first if the Bandits fall in their game, but more importantly it will increase the lead between them and the Knighthawks for second place in the east.  Going into tonight’s action the Black Wolves have two games in hand over the Knighthawks.  The Knighthawks are off this week.

If the game four week is any indication of what you will see, you don’t want to miss a minute of the action.

The game will be broadcasted on  FoxSportsGo.com at 7 pm.
