CILL Playoffs: Octane Take On Sabertooths

Two of the best franchises in the history of the Continental Indoor Lacrosse League faceoff on Saturday as Colorado faces fourth seed Pittsburgh.Colorado has not lost a game since they joined the CILL last season. They are 3-0 on the season and come into the playoffs as the top seed against the fourth seed Pittsburgh Octane. Pittsburgh went 2-3 this past season.

The Sabertooths have a clear advantage from the get go with several professional league players. Alex Demopolous is a member of the Colorado Mammoth and Dan Finck played with the Philadelphia Wings. Taylor Embury is a former Kentucky Stickhorse and Kevin Tait was an NLL veteran.

On top of that, current Sabertooths head coach John Grant Jr is a former MLL, NLL and MSL MVP, champion and scoring champ. The Mammoth organization have a lot to do with the Sabertooths from an administrative level as well with Steve Govett serving in the front office.

Pittsburgh has their work cut out for them if they want to compete with a high-powered Sabertooths team that has oft seemed out of place in the CILL. However, playoffs are always a different animal. Can Colorado continue their torrid run and take their second CILL crown?
