Demons look to repeat in 2013

As the 2012 Clax season approaches let’s take a look at the defending creators champs the Oshweken Demons.

The Demons last year were lead by a marvelous season from Chris Atwood who had 35 goals and 37 assists to lead the team in scoring with 77 points. Atwood will need to try to replicate this success in 2013 as he was the catalyst for the Demons offense last season. If Atwood can get off to another great start expect the rest of the Demons offense to follow suit. The Demons offense last year was overall pretty balanced as they had 7 players with over 30 points. The fact that the Demons could attack with so many different players is what made them tough to defeat. The Demons will want to once again use this spread out offense to continually roll out lines against teams and keep opposing teams defenses guessing.

In net the Demons had goalie  Jeff Powless. While Powless posted an impressive record of 6-2 his G.A.A was 11.01. Powless will need to get his G.A.A down this year as you cannot expect the offense to carry a team and he will need to play big in net for the Demons.

Expect the Demons to once again be a contender in 2013 as they still have a very deep offense that will give teams fits. Any team that tries to get in a shootout with the Demons will lose as the Demons have too much fire power.
