Indians Dominance of Prez Cup Leads to 5-0 Start

The win for the Caughnawaga Indians over the Onondaga Redhawks yesterday gave the Indians a 5-0 start in the President’s Cup. Toay, they take on the 4-0 Saints. What has worked for the Indians in this tournament? So far, just about everything. The Iroquois Lacrosse Association representatives have been led by the 28 points from Jerome Thompson and the 14 goals from Miles Thompson.

In their win yesterday Seth Oakes led the club with eight points, but it has been a little of everything picking up the Indians. The goaltending duo of Daylin Adams and Alex Fortier combined for 34 saves.

A win for the Indians over the Saints tomorrow would clinch the top seed for the semi finals which begin on Saturday. They would play the fourth seed who are likely to be the winner of the Onondaga and Calgary game tomorrow. If the Saints win they would likely take the top seed.

The Indians have by far the most goals in the tourney at 74. The next most is 59 from the Kahnawake Mohawks. Their goals against average are the second lowest to only the Saints 29, and they have to face that duo of Scott Komer and Jake Henhawk today.
