Justin Otto Speaks on Signing in Rhode Island

Yesterday we saw the Baltimore Bombers make some moves, one of which was releasing forward Justin Otto. Otto then signed with the Rhode Island Kingfish. Already playing in Boston last season, Otto is ready to be back in New England.

“I’m excited to be apart of the new organization. They have some great talent on the floor and can be a very good team once everything gels.”

Otto had been a part of the Bombers but did not play against the Kingfish in that game, so he got a first hand look at his new club. “I saw their game against the Bombers online since I didn’t suit up for Baltimore that game. They are a very athletic team but still very new to the box game. It’s clear they have the ability to compete playing close games to KY and MD.”

Baltimore would have played Rhode Island today, but it was cancelled. Otto says that isn’t a bad thing. “Actually, I think it’s better that the game was cancelled. There is now another chance to practice with the team and get to know the guys a bit more. It can only help us.”

He is joined in Rhode Island by Synowiez, and Otto thinks that will be an immediate impact. “I’m hoping the addition of myself and Synowiez will make an immediate impact on the left side. We will be able to generate more shot opportunities and take some of the focus away for Maggio and Helter so they will get more opportunities as well. I think they were a few offensive players away from putting up some numbers and I think we can help fill that roll.”
