Knighthawks Take on Rock Tonight in Montreal

Tonight the National Lacrosse League tries to take a step closer to getting a franchise back to Montreal as the Rochester Knighthawks take on the Toronto Rock.

Last week the Rock fell at home to the Edmonton Rush, while the Knighthawks picked up a home pre season victory against Minnesota. Both teams look a lot different, however.

In action for Rochester will be the newly acquired Dawson brothers, and they will be without Jordan Hall, Joel White and Robbie Campbell who they traded to Philadelphia. Both Dan and Paul Dawson were at practice for their new club today. Casey Powell and Dan Dawson will be playing on the same team for the first time since the 2011 Boston Blazers.

Rochester also cut Chris Courtney and Josh Kacprzak. Meanwhile, Toronto released Kyle Andrews, Robert Kroger, Dustin Caravelo, Pete Rinne and Nick Inch, making for a different looking club for this pre season game.

Scott Evans should see his first action with Toronto after not playing in last week’s game. Meanwhile for Rochester, they cut both Ben Van Every and Mike Matteo, so the only goalies we should see for them are Matt Vinc and Jake Henhawk.

Patrick Hargeaves will get a chance to crack the Knighthawks roster tonight as well. The 39 year old has played with the Vermont Voyageurs. Mark Kirby will get a chance to play for the Rock.

If this game at the Bell Centre does as well as we all hope, tonight could be a big night for lacrosse.
